My name is Colin Niebuhr and while I say I’m from Alabama, my life really began in Michigan. During middle school, my father was transferred from outside of Detroit to Hoover, AL and I resided there until college. While on golf scholarship at Troy, I decided to transfer to the University of Alabama, ROLL TIDE! After college, I pursed my dream of being a professional golfer for a while. It went so well that I began my appraisal career in Atlanta and met Scott Murphy in 2004. I’ve been certified since 2005. In 2006, I transferred to Charlotte, NC where I’ve resided ever since. I met my wife (Janell) here and we have two children (Martin – 10 and Scarlett – 9) and a beagle/cocker spaniel (Sparky – 12). My children are active athletes and you can often find me at a baseball, basketball or softball game on the weekend. In 2014, I accepted a position as the EVP/Compliance Manager at and Appraisal Management Company called Karis Management Group. Now back at D.S. Murphy, I plan to help grow the business through classes and presentations along with getting back into completing appraisals in the Charlotte area.
